Based upon the other reviews, I was quite disappointed.Here are my points of contention:1) The printing quality is very poor. This is a self-published book, and the only photographs are poor black and white reproductions at the back of the back.2) There are numerous spelling and grammatical errors; again, this is due to it being a self-published/print-on-demand book.3) The book mentions on numerous occasions a list of suggested auction houses in the appendix; this was not included. Again, lack of editing due to not being handled by a publisher.4) With respect to the vast knowledge of the writer, much of the information/advice in the book will not come as a shock nor surprise to the experienced collector/dealer. The only truly useful information gleaned is in the section on auction houses, regarding their inner workings, and even then, the book fails to deliver on the list of auction houses it mentions.5) The book is short; it can easily be read in a couple of hours, at most.6) The anecdotes are few and far between; if you'd like a collection of truly entertaining and useful anecdotes, I would firmly suggest the books by Stephen Datz as an alternative.The book would definitely prove useful to the novice to intermediate collector, but I believe it's a bit pretentious in it's affirmation of usefulness to the experienced collector/dealer. Consider it as a gift to someone early in their philatelic journey, but it's an easy pass for those late in the hobby.

First, this book is terrible: illiterate, badly organized, and uninformative, bad reproductions; without being an expert or a dealer, I know enough to spot junk when I see it. Much of it is taken up with recounting his own coups in spotting a rare item in a collection. Which leads to,Second, I have just discovered that this man has had a judgment against him in California for fraud: mail fraud, counterfeiting and exchanging stamps he was supposed to be evaluating, and simply not paying up to the naive and ignorant clients who had found him online. I don't know if he served time or not; I suspect it's all still ongoing. His bogus foundation is a copycat name for the American Philatelic Society, a respected nation-wide institution, a stupid mistake I made myself.In short: DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK! I am sending a copy of this to Amazon of course, but who knows if they read their mail or even give a damn.NathanPS: here is the link I forgot to insert the other day, if you want to check out my allegations:[...]

I didn't get much out of this other than very basic stamp collecting information and a long bio on the author and his various enterprises.

The book - as other reviews have said - is very helpful with lots if information. But some for the information (and definitions) I wanted wasn't there - but that didn't distract from the information there. What was distracting was the typos and grammar errors. And the strange fact that the book had no title / copyright page!!

I inherited a stamp collection that my father-in-law inherited. The book seems to provide good information to someone in my situation. I haven't delved very deeply into the stamp collection and will update this review once I do.

Do not let the title of this books mislead you. You will hardly derive anything from this book. Please look for something else other than this!

Great book - loaded with great illustrations

This book makes a fine collection to my book of arts. This helps you if you are into making art from images or imagination. They have samples in the book with images made out of many images found in the book. The cover of this book is made out of different images from the book, pretty much a copy and paste method. Detailed drawings black and white. Recommended for anyone who is into detailed ink art.

This book was a great purchase. I reference it often when deciding how to assemble an ink drawing. This book has many examples of truly black and white images. Many ink books I've purchased contain images that are hard to view just because the whole image is the same tone. Ink is a difficult thing to master, thus making contrast even more important than it would be in any other form of drawing or painting. This book contains images that are full of contrast and are not in any way difficult to view.

I checked this book out from the library years ago. It hooked me with its collage effects. I used it for my own gain then it became gone. I'm so glad to have my own copy now. The seller was great!

OMG this book was definately worth the wait!!! I wasn't initially a fan of Boogeyman. He is an Alphahole, a patched member of the Devil's Rejects MC who was assigned to kidnap and kill 3 college housemates. Shelly is one of the three. He is her worst nightmare and she is his dream come true! I love the strength, sass and determination of Shelly. Instead of fearing him and begging for her life (did not end well for her two housemates) she finds his actions erotic and cant stop her body from reacting to him. Twists and turns kept me flying through this book! Oh my, the fantasies..🔥🔥🔥!I really found my self liking Boogeyman when Shelly brought out his soft side and really fell in love with him when he maned up and told the truth to Shelly and then tbe Devil's Rejects. This is a wild ride to the dark side you definately do not want to miss! Looking foward to readding more Devil's Rejects stories!**recieved ARC is return for a honest review**

Dark, intense, and dirty. One wild ride to go on. Boogeyman may not be for everyone but to me he was everything you are told to stay away from but everything you want more than anything. This may have been intense but in a fantastic way that made my heart beat faster, my emotions all over the place, just waiting to see what would happen next. I couldn’t put this book down, it had: twist, turns, intrigue with a hit of steamy goodness to keep me on my toes. Loved everything about this book. Can’t wait to read more from Ms. Maynard and the Devil Rejects MC.

It was a great read. It had interesting characters and a story line that wiill hold your interest and keep you reading. The ending was a little aburpt for me and left me with the feeling there was so much more to this couples story yet to be told. It is well worth the read.

Y'all these two are a hot mess ... Shelly is kidnapped and Boogeyman is there. They have many bumps along the way even when Shelly temporarily loses her memory then it all comes flooding back. They have a big fight and he runs off in the end it all works out and the club even forgives him.

Omg!! I love Charlie so much! This book is fantastic! This series is phenomenal! I can not wait for the next one!!

Boogeyman has only seen love as hurtful and always ending in death. One look at Shelly and he's doubting his whole life. Great couple and their story!!!

Hi Hallie, Excellent read, this brought tears to my eyes when I read Farley Malorrus, Co Founder Ben Wa Novelty Corp. Lots of memories about dad, the business, and the excitment of the 70's, 80's, and 90's...I miss dad, he was truly a pioneer and just trying to bring people some joy, and intimacy whether they were alone or not. He had good intentions and in the end, a healthy line of products, hypo allergenic, so I won that battle. Thanks for sending me a copy, I bought a Kindle and Flew through it, Excellent easy read, and best as I could see the Truth, the Whole truth, and nothing but the truth. Love you Hallie. I don’t know what I was expecting, but this definitely dives deep into feminist history. If’s well written, but not quite as juicy as I was hoping. It got pretty academic at times but still some interesting tidbits to drop at cocktail parties.

Gave this to female friend and she loved the history!

Living in DFW, the story pulled me in quickly when it brought up a local community i frequent. I had no idea the feminist movement was as fractured as it was over sex toys and adult stores.

Interesting topic approached in a novel way.

This was a highly enjoyable read. History can be both fun and informative and this book is.

Boring

Holy wow did this book cover a lot of material in so few pages! It’s a little under 300 pages, and a hefty chunk of that (I think something like 50-80, but I had to guess because I had an e-ARC) is notes at the end. Hallie Lieberman definitely knows her stuff about sex toys, which isn’t surprising considering she’s got a freaking Ph.D on the subject.She talks about the obscenity laws that have made the selling of sex toys illegal, or at the very least quite difficult (I think there are some places in the US where it’s still illegal). That part was fascinating, but not really surprising. I mean, just think about all the personal things that have been illegal in this country (and elsewhere), from marriages to sexual positions, the government hasn’t been shy about getting between people and what they want to do in private.There’s so much in here about the feminist movement, too, especially with sapphic women. The big argument about sex toys being a break from and a middle-finger shown to the patriarchy, or being one more way women were tied down to phalluses, was mentioned a lot, and I honestly didn’t realize it went back as far as it did.I always wondered how we ended up with materials that are body safe, because I knew it hadn’t been around forever, and I knew there were artifacts that have been found and presumed to be rudimentary dildos. I assumed it was an accident, which it kind of was, but the actual story is way more interesting. (I’m not relating it here, because I couldn’t do it justice by summing it up.) This is where sex toys, the feminist movement, and the disabled movement intersect, thanks to Gosnell Duncan.My mind is still kind of blown by how many different topics were covered in learning about sex toys. From the AIDS epidemic of the ’80s to the feminist movement to accessibility to the distribution of affordable birth control in other countries the porn industry. Ok, that last one I kinda expected to come up at some point. But the rest of it? Wow. And that’s just a few things Hallie Lieberman talks about in relation to sex toys throughout Buzz.This was honestly one of the most engaging, thought provoking, entertaining, and informational books I’ve read in a long time.So, do I recommend it? Oh yeah, I definitely recommend it. But obviously not to anyone who doesn’t want to read about sex toys.I think if you like books like Mary Roach’s, or the Freakonomics kinds of non-fiction, you’ll like this if the topic sounds like something you’d be into.I don’t want to buy every book I get an ARC of, but this is one I’m strongly considering buying. I’ll probably wait until it’s in paperback, just because most of my non-fiction is paperback, but who knows? (And I’ll honestly probably grab a copy for my mom, too.)I received an eARC from Net Galley to review
