This is a lovely book for toddlers it's simple & it's short. The book has a 2-page spread of all the ocean animals with pictures that makes for a lovely look-and-find activity with the kiddo.

Well illustrated with bright colors!

A beautiful bedtime story that introduces babies and toddlers to animals that live in the sea. There is very little text, telling the animals good night, but what is there is simple and flows well. The illustrations are what makes this book. They are large, colourful and vibrant. They contain other animals than those mentioned in the text. The back of the book has a page with all the animals illustrated and their names so you can go back and find them all. A great addition to a family library or a pre-school/kindergarten classroom.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Rowman and Littlefield for the ARC.I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is a cute story with nice graphics. Not many kids know some of the animals which will make it fun. Parents they may ask questions!! I rated this a 3.5. I think most small kids would enjoy the pictures.

Kate, a researcher, found herself looking for the author of a journal who documented the building of the Golden Gate Bridge. Patrick, having experienced a great loss, who was searching for meaning. For most of the book, it seemed like it would have a formulaic end. I was relieved the book didn’t follow the predictability of many books and sink into a bland ending.You know it is a good story when you feel in touch with the main character and his search for purpose in life. Losing everything you love makes you question life and meaning.I want to thank #netgalley for the opportunity to read and honestly review this book in advance of the publishing date.

This bedtime board book follows a seahorse heading off to bed, saying good night to other ocean creatures along the way. The illustrations are vibrant and beautiful. This simple book is great for small children.I read a copy from the publisher via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

I'm a heavily science minded individual (I have a PhD in neurochemistry for reference) that has never put much stock into astrology or other "fortune telling games". However, in an attempt to silence a bout of destructive anxiety of late I decided to have fun with something such as Tarot (those of you flocking to correct me or scream at me for such slanderous speech, hear me out).I initially purchased "The Wild Unknown" deck, and while the art was beautiful (and unique) and the descriptions intricate, I did not feel in any way connected to the cards. Even in the initial readings when referencing the book, the cards and the descriptions felt alien to each other, and forced. For those of you interested in that set, I highly recommend it and still use it occasionally, but it is not for me as a reader or as the one being read.After shelving Tarot (literally and figuratively) for a few months, I got back into meditation to continue coping with my anxiety and decided to look for another set of Tarot cards that I felt more intuitively. That's when I spotted The Wildwood Tarot deck. I've always felt drawn to and connected to nature, both in a physical sense as well as "spiritually" you could say, and the concept of Druidism has always intrigued me. Upon receiving the Wildwood deck, I opened the box and immediately read the first couple of chapters. I spent a good deal of time studying the Wheel of the Year, and all of its interconnections and symbolism. Afterwards, I looked through each of the cards and was shocked at how much they spoke to me. I studied the art on each card as well as the descriptors and immediately felt as if I could close my eyes and envision myself within the card. The images are so clear, the pictures so nuanced and complete, that I could immediately give a reading based solely on the card and the intricate details presented within the artwork. There is not one card in this deck that I could not immediately relate to.Know that I'm not even a novice reader, and barely a beginner, but this deck has made me enthusiastic about taking a journey into Tarot, if not entirely in a spiritual sense, but as a means of clarity in reflection.

As this deck has been very thoroughly reviewed here, I'll just add some personal reflections.The Good:This is about 99% of the deck. The artwork, the card stock, the box and book...all just as I'd like them to be. The images speak volumes, so I've added photos of all the cards and the packaging. They feel good in the hand, not overly slippery and more of a matte finish. Will Worthington's artwork, for the most part, is gorgeous and has an active, engaging feel. As a Pagan, I love the Celtic/Shamanic/ancient imagery (which are, as a plus, void of the Christian symbolism of the traditional RWS cards). Sturdy box for storing the cards...lovely...and the book is a wealth of information.The Bad:Actually I don't have anything to put here... There's nothing I've found which would make me say, "I don't like these cards because..."The Questionable:Hmm, a few points here, but these are points that may be "meh" for me and completely great for others. As a Tarot beginner, these decidedly do not follow the RWS symbolism and interpretation (to an extent, anyway), so the book that comes with the cards is not only informative, it's vital to understanding what you're interpreting. This means you can't just go to any "How To" book because the card meanings likely won't match up. I knew this before I bought the deck, so it's not a problem - just means it'll be a bit before I develop my intuitive abilities enough and remember the new meanings to get a good reading. Borderless would also have been great, as the illustrations are amazing, but this is never a deal-breaker for me (I have contemplated taking the scissors to my decks and just cannot do it - sacrilege! hehe). And finally, a few of the cards stop me or make me scratch my head (Nine of Bows - the Wodwose, for example - is just freaky, and I cannot associate "respect" with that card just yet).Overall, I'm pleased with this deck. I was hoping for a more instant connection with it (based on other reviews and seeing the artwork online), but it looks like I'll have to spend some time with it. In general, I like it enough to take the time to work with it and understand what it's showing me, so that says a lot. And even if I never read with this deck, it is a beautiful and well-presented item to add to my growing Tarot collection. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for an RWS alternative or to those with a Pagan/Celtic worldview who are drawn to this deck.

I just love love LOVE these cards. I love that some people write really in depth technical reviews because I don't know how to. I'm an emotional person and I just emotionally adore these cards. I'm almost done with this and may swing back to the beginning and start again. I love the selected essays, as many are VERY relevant today. Bravo to the author. The difference between this and after the fact reported history is that the authors of these essays were LIVING in the history at the time they wrote on the various topics. It's a more personal, enlightening view of that era and how things REALLY were, rather than filtered and reported on later. I learned a LOT, laughed and winced a lot too.

I came to order this book because I love reading about the 1920s, I love readings by Dorothy Parker and I respect that the publishers of Vanity Fair had a pretty good grip on what they were about. Positioning this book on your shelves it probably belongs right next to I REMEMBER DISTINCTLY, written in the early 1930s about the 1920s.

This is an interesting look back at the language, politics, social dynamics and significant events of the period. It's fascinating to see what changed and what stayed the same.

I love this era, the F. Scott Fitzgerald era of flappers and socialites from about 1900 through the 20's and on. Most of the articles are amusing and witty (some are serious but still good); it's a great sociological study of how people really thought back then. A great book and a great gift idea for anyone who loves this era!

Everything I expected it to be.

So many of my favorite things in one book. Short stories, pre-World War II era, New York City. Great, prolific writers. I highly recommend it.

Get a taste of the wit and wisdom that the English language is sorely missing today. Get a sample of some of the finest humor, bar none, as you read Dorthy Parker and e e cummings. I cannot praise this book with anything but superlatives !!

I am a nostalgia buff, especially when it comes to literature. If this is your thing, and you have an interest in writers who ruled the page in the early to mid 1900's, this is a collection of writing from Vanity Fair magazine that you will love. I only received my copy last week, and I'm more than halfway through it. Its absorbing articles put me smack dab in the middle of the decade's culture and happenings. Relax and enjoy. This collection is a treasure.

Our state (Indiana) is sadly in some kind of code time warp. Our politicians seem to listen to folks that want to keep the cost of building a home low with no regard to our citizens' safety. We are still using the 2003 IRC and the 2008 NEC! The book is great and fairly easy to understand.

Used but perfectly serviceable and great buy!

You really need to WANT to have the Residential Code to wade through the 'jargon' in it. The answers ARE there, but you have to look for them. The chart on window and door header requirements is nearly 3 pages long! The code must cover all possibilities, but it doesn't need to be so technical that only 'inspectors' can decipher it (if they're lucky). The 2002 National Electric Code is just as complex, but it is written to be understood by nearly anyone. I hope the editors/writers of the next version of the IRC take the hint.

The speed at which the restoration takes place is only inhibited by the initial state at which the user begins.

I'm amazed that these ancient formulas are so useful and work so well even today. Maybe it's because they have been used for so many generations. The ancient stories and backgrounds behind these formulas are very interesting, e.g., how some recipes were used by Emperor Guangxu and Empress Cixi. I recommended some hair rinse formulas to my friends and they really liked those recipes! Those mouthwash recipes are very helpful too. The recipes are easy to follow, with detailed ingredients, amounts, and preparation methods described. The explanations in Chinese medicine and scientific research are easy to understand. The book gives detailed references that are very convincing. It's a good resource about traditional Chinese culture too, such as those aromatics bags that were very popular in ancient China. It's almost unbelievable that ancient Chinese had developed so many comprehensive methods for beauty.

I've used this Haggadah for several years. Last year our group expanded, and this year even more - couldn't be more happy about it. Purchased additional so everyone will have this family friendly Haggadah - so well written and Illustrated. Not at all what I grew up with, hours of story and starvation (ok, not starvation but hours of words words words... I'm so sick of words...). Thank you Elie Gindi - I've recommended this to many!

Both kids, 3 and 6, were engaged for most of it. They left with two pages to go, but overall this haggadah led to an enjoyable family seder. All the key parts are in there and it goes quickly, easily under an hour if you want. All guests enjoyed it as well.

The "Family Haggadah" appears to be illustrated and annotated for parents who want to keep their 7 - 12 year olds engaged during the seder. For that purpose, the Family Haggadah seems to be an excellent choice. Beautifully illustrated with lots of fun "side" facts. If you have teenagers or are a group of all adults, the Family Haggadah will likely come off as too childish. The content is good for various degrees of religious seders. If you are looking for a more cultural/humanistic/secular approach to celebrating Passover, this Haggadah will leave you wanting more. I take my hat (but not my kippa) off to the author for creating a kid friendly haggadah that parents could tolerate.

I started using this Haggadah when my grandchildren were very young. They are now teenagers. Each year they find something new in this book to talk about. We had extra people at this years seder and I was so happy to find this great little Haggadah still in print. It truly is a Haggadah for all ages. This year our youngest was 11 and oldest in his 80's.

After examining many Haggadahs we chose this one for our Seders. It seemed to have the right mix of traditionalism, and modern practice, with enough material to hold the interest of my small grandchildren.

Easy to use, nice to look at. Nice size, not too small. Recommended for all ages if you want a concise but complete seder.

The Haggadah is written in very simple language suitable for children and others with limited English skills. I am happy with the language and the retelling of the Passover story, but suggest including more songs for singing at the seder table. I particularly love the Passover themed art from the last 1500 years. The art is a main reason I bought the Haggadah.
