I bought this flashcard's box because my teacher used them when I took a TOEFL preparation course. Very good for improving writing task, speaking task, and perhaps the reading task for the questions ("this word is close in meaning to:..."). This is definitively a fun way to learn more technical vocabulary and the idea is to "play the game" with more people so that learning is better. The idea is to guess the word by mentioning the synonims or giving clues and start to memorizing the words. I can say that after the course I got a score higher to 100 and this game contributed to achieve that goal :D Also I personally believe that it is important to use all of our senses when learning; when you take the card, read it, speak to others to guess the word and so on, the brain is more active than when you just click on the phone and try to learn in silence in front of a screen for long hours.

first of all, I want to say that this is a great product and it can be improved. However the words found in this box are super easy. I would say that it would be a good tool for beginners and not for advanced English learners who want to take 100 or more in TOEFL.

I liked it but was expecting harder English words....too easy for my English advanced group

I’m getting ready for the Toefl test, so I decided to improve my vacabluary and bought thos flash cards. ITS ABSOLUTELY USELESS THING!!! I was expecting on academic vacabulary. But these is VERY simple words! I went through all the words and divided into two sections. A big section with the words I know. A small with those I don’t. Rest are empty. So if your English level is High Intermediate or Advance DONT BUY IT!!!

In the end I found it useless. You only need the book Cracking the TOEFL. If your vocabulary is that bad that you need those flashcards, then you won’t pass Toefl anyway.

It has sufficient examples and makes you able to memorize the words, but I think they are easier than Toefl's level.

I was not impressed. This book is full of fluff and short on specifics. It’s an infomercial for buying more of his training and courses. Waste of reading time.

This is a good book written for the new investor and experienced as well. The author is clark an concise and matter of fact with his observations and fact finding process. I am investing in multifamilyrealestate.com and gave started a syndication for my network to team up with me in buying apartment buildings with our multifamilysyndications.com and this is just one of the 100 books in my multifamily library!

I decided to rate this book a five star because it actually gets into the weeds of apartment investing. It doesn't promise no money down millions are going to fall in your lap. It just explains what is needed and why. Read it and learn something.

Commercial real estate is a 400 pound gorilla. It is very eye opening to find out that you probably already had enough money to get a multi-family unit at some point in your life. Chances are you will have the money again. This book is a great starting point but not the final destination.Essentially what you are dealing with are $10-$20 introduction books (by various gurus) which steer you to $500 courses. In the courses you get redirected to $6000-$10,000 mentorships.I definitely got value out of the book and I plan on getting emerging real estate markets but the level of specificity some of us are looking for would only be in the courses.

I kind of expected this book to just tell me things I already knew. Instead it breaks into detail different things such as dealing with contractors and agreements, insurance claims, negotiating, etc. I will turn to this book in the future when I have problems with my own properties.

This is one of very few books I actually read start to finish. I have been around real estate for most of my adult life and made plenty of mistakes myself. From my experience and acquired knowledge, David’s system is what you need to go to the next level.

This is my favorite book on multi family. David gives you the blueprint he used to build his 140 million real estate empire. He covers everything from how he finds and funds deals to how to find the best property managment companies to take care of your investments. I enjoyed this book and so will you to learn everything david has to teach pick up this book and also read his other book emerging real estate markets.

Read the book in a couple nights. Good information and lessons learned for folks just getting started. It was in-depth but basis at the same time. Highly recommended.

We only bought this at the recommendation of my daugter's teacher. Originally, my 10-year old daughter wanted to take (what she thought would be) the easy way out and read Diary of a Wimpy Kid for her book report. She thought she was sly because most of those books are pictures anyway, so it wouldn't be much reading. Her teacher said she would allow that, but recommended that she try this book instead. As soon as this book was delivered, my daughter started reading. After a few pages, she commented how incredibly sad this book was, and I thought that was it. I didn't think she'd even give it a chance. Needless to say, she finished the book and LOVED IT! She was having a really hard time getting enough substance out of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid book to write a book report about, but once she read the Tulane book, the report just flowed out of her. It was amazing. She loved the book, and I think she got something out of it. I feel like she learned about loyalty and appreciation for the people who care for you.

With tears in my eyes, I write this review, as I have just finished The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane. This book was suggested to me by Amazon. We have 12 grandchildren and they are all avid readers.This book is a children's book, a lesson in life and loving, tells of heart break and loss, of being selfish and then knowing what real love means. And it also shows us to appreciate all that happens in our life and the people that we meet and our experiences, as they help us to grow and be what we should be.

When your 8 1/2 year old granddaughter runs to you and says, "This is the best book you'll ever read, Grandmom. Now here, read it" -- well you know that's what you must do. I was expecting a silly rabbit story, big font, short words. I was so, so wrong. I began that evening and could hardly put it down at bedtime! The writing is excellent and the characters are engaging. There were some words that I was sure Audrey would not have understood. And the depth of the characters is beyond a 2nd grader's understanding. A teacher read this to her enriched language arts class and thus was able to explain some of the deeper meanings. As I neared the ending of the book, I kept a tissue close by as I feared for yet another disaster. For my granddaughter and for me it will be a reference point to which we can return again and again through the years and peel back even more layers of this marvelous gem of a book. This book is as close to perfect as I've found. The story does what fiction does best- draws the reader in, busts their heart wide opens, and leaves them a little changed by the end. DiCamillo explores what we all long to feel and understand- love- and she does so in a way that a child can grasp perhaps better than the adult reading it to them. But adults can get this story too. The characters are striking, and the events haunting to anyone who has felt love and loss. Be careful reading this book if you have a heart- you may find it.

Another teacher recommended this book to me and as a Kate DiCamillo fan, I purchased two so that I could read it aloud to my class this year. My class LOVED this read aloud and talk about it constantly, even still, after it's been about a month since we finished it and have moved onto reading Tiger Rising (also recommend that book by Kate DiCamillo especially for studying symbolism). My kids were really bored with the first two chapters of this book and then they were HOOKED instantly. We used the book to study characters and it was perfect for that purpose. There are so many characters and Edward changes beautifully throughout the book.

I have read this book to all 3 of my kids over the years (multiple times to each of them). My oldest is 19 and in college and my youngest is 9. I've read it so much I think I could recite it with my eyes shut in places. The story is captivating and heartwarming. Even though things change and life takes you in directions you had not planned, and even when nothing seems to be in your control, it's reassuring to know you always find your way back home. Each time I read it, I pick up on more and more of the little details that foreshadow the story and tie it together. Love this author. Am buying this again for my niece's daughter now who is 8. This is the PERFECT bedtime story. LOVE IT!

I had to get this book for a college course on children's literature, and this is now one of my favorite books.I read it I one sitting, and i think any child with a love of reading aged 8and up could read it fairly easily.This book is such a gem. I wish i had gotten the hardback version, but i had no idea how much i would love it.This is a book i will read over and over. Its about love, loss, perseverance, being strong in the face of helplessness, and hope. But it's much more than that.It is beautifully written, and has a perfect ending.

Along Edward’s travels and with every new person he meets, Edward learns a lot about himself and the world around him. He bonds with all the people he travels with and helps fill a void in each and every one of them. In this Edward learns humility.This book absolutely gave me all the feels. Nellie, Bull & Lucy, and especially Bryce and his sister’s stories all pulled at my heartstrings. This book isn’t just for kids. This book is for everyone. It is amazing, beautiful, warm, and heart wrenching. The amazing illustrations added to the warm fuzzy feeling I got from this book. You must not only read this book, you must get everyone you know to read it.

This is the 4th paperback that I have bought in the Christi Friesen's Polymer Clay Sculpture Series, and this one was somewhat disappointing. First, the actual retail price of the paperback is $9.95. And I paid substantially more for a paperback that is only 45 pages. You can only buy this book through 3rd party sellers, and they are gouging buyers for this book just because of Christi's name. This book is another how to project book for her dragon. Also it's only ONE dragon, with variations in color, facial expression, or embellishments. It is not a full size dragon either as it was meant to be a pendant. No legs although at the end she shows you how to add the front legs. The dragon is cute, but not worth paying more than a few bucks for the lesson. I see the latest crop of sellers trying to sell it "used" for $75.00 on up, and new at $143.00 and more. Simply not worth it when there are other artists that have more elaborate dragons, that are just as nice and definitely cheaper. There are also YouTube tutorials for dragons, so I would say save your money. As for the book Christi shows you step by step how to make the dragon and shows ideas for variations. It's a simple project even for a novice.

Despite all of the five star reviews on this item page--"Dragons: The CF Polymer Clay Sculpture Series"--my first response to this book after receiving it in the mail was not positive. At a scant 48 pages, CF or Christi Friesen takes you through, in graphic novel format, the crafting of a dragon in polymer clay. The step-by-step instructions are meant to result in creating a focal bead, brooch or sculpture of a whimsical dragon. To be fair, the book does what it promises. However, the idea choices depicted in a two-page gallery spread (pages 28-29) pretty much all rely on a spiral shape idea that only works up to a point.Obviously, author and crafter Friesen pulls out all the "cutesy" stops--presenting a cavalcade of around thirteen dragon examples that at best can only be used to craft extremely costume-y pieces of jewelry. Her examples work much better as sculptures--as focal beads or even brooches, the size is just too large and the style remarkably geared towards the "young-at-heart." I would have liked to see the finished necklace on somebody's neck so that I could judge the scale with the amount of detail. This is not an extreme criticism--I found the howling expression on "Old Yeller" to be quite cute. 'Emeraldine" has a forlorn character that sparks with personality. However, the rest of Friesen's dragon herd are forgettable--no aggressive fire-breathers here. In fact, that is what I expected to see--a design with fire literally spraying from the dragons mouth attached to a necklace in such a way that I could swear that either Viserion, Rhaegal or Drogon in miniature format had appeared from the pages of A Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire, Book 1).In spite of her graphic novel format, Friesen does give some good advise on the crafting of the eyes which can be used in the construction of any polymer clay creature. Her texture tips rate just an "okay." If you follow the construction of dragon Wenedyll from start to finish, you will learn how to create a finished form. Where Friesen fails is in her inability to show variety and her almost obnoxious attempt to be a little too flippant and silly in her approach. While this might appeal to some, it does not to me. For almost $10, I expected a lot more book with a lot more examples--not the same style and stingy vision.Bottom line? I will not be purchasing any more books in the CF Polymer Clay Series. There are far more meatier books out there that reflect individual artistic styles with more versatility. The Art of Polymer Clay Millefiori Techniques: Projects and Inspiration for Creative Canework,Creating Lifelike Figures in Polymer Clay: Tools and Techniques for Sculpting Realistic Figures and Polymer Clay Global Perspectives: Emerging Ideas and Techniques from 125 International Artists are just a few. I just recently decided to dabble in polymer clay. I bought a previous book on "how to" and techniques. Then I bought this book. This is not a book for someone who has never dealt with polymer clay. She gives ideas on how to make dragons. As for things on mixing clays, tools, etc you will need to find in another book. After I read the first book I bought, I then read this one. I started and finished my first dragon last night. I used Christi's directions from beginning to end and was extremely pleased on how my dragon turned out. I couldn't believe that I made it myself. Christi's book is very detailed and explains what you need to do step by step. She also adds some humor to it which makes it a lot of fun to read. I highly recommend this book.

Such a fun book! Christi is highly entertaining. Her lovely personality comes shining through Loud and Clear!!! I have a great time pulling out these books and following along with her step by step. I am always very satisfied with the results. And usually I am not a step by step kinda person. I am more of the no rules/color outside of the lines kinda gal but, Christi makes it fun to follow along! I can't wait for the rest of the series. So far I've made a few frogs, a dragon, a sea-horse, and some flowers, vines and foliage.I recommend the entire series. Even my young nieces and my mother-in-law creating projects from these books!

I purchased this book because I was specifically looking for a polymer clay book that dealt with dragons. Though this book is, at first glance, the subject matter I was after, it is clearly aimed at tweens or teens. The writing is "cutesy" and juvenile. Not every book has to be on the same level as the superior works of Katherine Dewey Creating Lifelike Figures in Polymer Clay: Tools and Techniques for Sculpting Realistic Figures but the attempt could be made to address sculptors as adults. Not every beginner is a child. Not every book in the dragon genre has to be a story book. This book outlines one complete project (which is suitable for costume jewelry and not much else) with slight variations on form and emotion. The quality of the finished project pictured is cartoon-ish and less than professional, with the artist's fingerprints still visible. The ONLY reason I'm keeping this book is because it does have a few interesting ideas on how to embellish works with beading that I would not have considered.Even the production value of the book is cheap. It is 46 pages and the weight of the paper is on par with a supermarket magazine. It's really more like a couple of "creative idea" pamphlets glued together. Overall VERY disappointing and certainly not worth even ten dollars.
